DATES & LOCATION

The camp is being held at MOBOT's Shaw Nature Reserve in Gray Summit, MO. Check-in begins Monday morning, July 17, with the closing events being held the evening of Friday, July 21. (Overnight  accomodations for the 22nd can easily be arranged for out of town attendees - please ask!)

 

Flying in? Let us know and someone will get your child to-and-from the airport.

TROUT LODGE

COST

The base cost for each MAGC camp  participant is $615. This price includes all tuition, meals, lodging and activities for the week.

MEALS

Meals are served from Sunday dinner through Saturday dinner in the dining center. Meals are buffet-style.

LODGING

Participants will be staying in the cabins. One councilor/supervisors will reside in each building.

WHO CAN ATTEND?

MAGC is designed for students between the ages of 10-18 (pre-college). At a minimum, we recommend that participants can read standard music notation, know all notes through fret five, and are competant in basic classic guitar techniques. Unsure about these requirements? Send us a note and we will discuss what to do to be ready for camp, or set up a Skype session to do a playing evaluation.

Performance opportunities of various kinds will be open to participants throughout the week.

ONE UNFORGETABLE and INSPIRING WEEK OF NON-STOP MUSIC

Since 2003, young guitarists between the ages of 10-18 from all across the US have attended the Mid America Guitar Camps. A superior and dedicated staff of some of the best teachers you could ever hope for guide the participants to new experiences and jump-start them on their journey of growing their current skills.

 

All participants - from beginners, through advanced level players preparing for music school - will find fun and stimulating activies to enrich their own playing, as well as the opportunity of working with their peers.
